About Us
Playset pioneers Don Harrison (left) and Stu Aschauer (right).
When Stu Aschauer and Don Harrison sold their first playsets in 1980, they laid the foundation for a legacy built on community and trust. Since then, Woodland Playsets has been the Warrenville area family’s favorite destination for outdoor playsets.
Our commitment to service extends beyond the backyard through involvement with the community and local charities. Our promise to customers is simple: a kind hello, a fun and memorable experience, and a team that’s proud to serve you.
1973
Warrenville native Stu Aschauer started a fencing business with childhood friend Don Harrison in 1973.
1980
They sold their first swingsets in 1980; their first step on what would become a forty-year career of excellence in the outdoor playset industry.
1983
Woodland Playsets officially launched in 1983. Stu and Don would eventually move the business to Warrenville as a way to give back to the community that had raised them. Many Warrenville residents will remember the pair’s annual holiday tradition of clearing out their playset inventory to sell Christmas trees in partnership with the local Kiwanis club.
2000
After Don passed away in 2000, Stu carried on running the business as a way to honor his lifelong friend and continue to serve Warrenville, where he would go on to serve the city as an Alderman.
2025
In 2025 Stu decided to step back from Woodland Playsets to enjoy a well-deserved retirement. We have since made it our mission to continue the incredible legacy Stu and Don created and continue their great work within the Warrenville community and beyond.
